Firmware update for the AOLION USB Type-C to HDMI cable compatible with the Switch 2 update 21.0.0
Hello everyone!
I bought an AOLION 4K 144Hz cable to plug my Nintendo Switch 2 directly into my monitor without using the dock (mainly to record let’s plays), and it suddenly stopped working after the 21.0.0 update of the Nintendo Switch 2…
No worries! The folks at CableTime provided a new firmware compatible with the AOLION cable (I tested it myself), and… it works again! To update your cable, here’s what you need to do:
- Download the latest firmware:
- either directly from CableTime,
- or from Otakugame.fr
- Unzip the file
- Plug the cable’s USB Type-C port into your PC (I used a USB Type-A cable)
- Wait for your PC to detect it
- Run the .exe file that corresponds to your cable (144Hz or 60Hz)
- Wait for the loading bar to turn green and…
Tada! You can now try it again with your Switch 2!
There’s also a short explanation video inside the Zip file if anything is unclear. On my end, everything worked perfectly, and my USB Type-C “cable/dock” is fully working again with my Nintendo Switch 2!
